Presented is a LeBron James signature and inscription on a navy-blue “ND Irish” baseball cap with gold lettering and accents. The three-time NBA Champion and four-time NBA MVP has signed his name in blue pen on the underside of the brim, and inscribed “8-24-01” below his signature. James attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, where the school’s nickname was “Fighting Irish.” James was a high school junior at the start of the 2001-2002 school year and was featured that summer in SLAM magazine where writer Ryan Jones lauded him as possibly "the best high school basketball player in America right now". During the season, he also appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, becoming the first high school basketball underclassman to do so. With averages of 29 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 steals per game, he was named Ohio Mr. Basketball for the second consecutive year, selected to the USA Today All-USA First Team, and became the first junior to be named male basketball Gatorade National Player of the Year. St. Vincent-St. Mary finished the year with a 23–4 record, ending their season with a loss in the Division II championship game. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A25490).
