An historic home run collection doesn’t get much more complete than this. This is the complete uniform, bat, game balls, cleats, wrist bands and batting gloves worn by Barry Bonds on June 5, 2006, when he hit career home run 716. This is significant in that the 2-run 5th inning blast off Brian Moehler put him two homers above Ruth and one more closer to Hank Aaron’s record. The game was a Monday night game against Florida played at AT&T Park. It is important to note that this collection represents the highest home run total jersey, bat, uniform, etc ever offered for public sale by any baseball player. In fact only one other game used bat attributed to a home run 700 or high has ever been offered for sale. As the all time home run king with 762 career home runs, Bonds home run items are in great demand and have been increasing in value over time.

Bonds’ home run was the only one hit by the Giants during their 14-2 gutting of the Marlins. To mark his historic home run, Bonds set aside everything he wore that night, along with the bat he used, all of which is included in the collection. First we have Bonds’ home white Giants uniform. The cream colored jersey has “GIANTS” sewn across the chest in black, orange and gold tackle twill. The Majestic label is sewn in the lower left front tail with size “54” and “2006” white hang tags. A Bonds number “25” patch is affixed to the left of the label. The collar and sleeve ends are ringed with orange and black trim and a San Francisco Giants patch is sewn on the left sleeve. The back has Bonds’ number “25” in black, orange and gold tackle twill, upon which the Home Run Champ has signed his name in silver pen adding “6-5-06 #716”. The jersey shows light wear with several small pine tar stains and scuffing.

The matching cream color pants have the Majestic label sewn inside the waistband with “25 37-48 37 OB” in black chain stitching on a white strip tag. A Bonds number “25” patch is affixed to the left of the label. “6-5-06 #716” is hand written in black marker on the waist band. The pants have orange and black trim running down the outside of each leg and the cuffs are finished without an internal elastic band. The pants have some light wear with a few pine tar stains and light scuffing. Accompanying this uniform is a pair of Bonds’ Fila game worn cleats. The orange and black cleats have a special “BONDS 25 2006” logo on their tongues and the Bonds 25 logo on the back of each shoe. The back of each has been marked in silver marker “6-5-06 #716”. The cleats show moderate wear with the expected scuffs and turf stains from game use. The treads still have some San Francisco turf clinging to them.

The two Franklin batting gloves and Fila wristbands in this lot were worn during the game and are also included. The gloves have been each marked in silver marker “6-5-06 #716” and the wrist bands have the Bonds 25 patches affixed. A lot of three Rawlings Official Major League baseballs are included. Each has been marked in blue ballpoint “6-5-06 #716” and exhibit great game use with the expected scuff marks and turf stains.

To top off this Barry Bonds home run collection is the bat he used to hit the historic #716. The model 25BONDS2K1 Sam Bat shows great game use. The barrel has several distinct ball marks with white leather ball scuffs visible - one of which was number 716. The handle has been taped in Bonds’ trademark fashion with a padded knob end transitioning to a criss-cross spiral on the upper handle. A moderate coat of pine tar has been applied to the upper handle as well. The cupped barrel end has the bats length “35”, weight “31.9” and manufacture date “5 18 06” along with other specs in black pen. Bonds signed the barrel in silver pen adding “6-5-06 #716”, completing this unique home run ensemble. Each piece carries a unique MLB Authenticated and Barry Bonds holograms to ensure its provenance. Also comes with personally signed letters of authenticity from Barry Bonds. Historic Barry Bonds home run items, with MLB authentication and iron clad authenticity have never been offered to the public before, making this a historic offering that is second to none. This item comes to us directly from Barry Bonds!
