From 1994 to 1997 the National League Batting Title could have been renamed “The Tony Gwynn Award” because the Padres’ slugger owned it those four consecutive years. The final season saw him post career highs with 17 home runs and 119 RBIs. Used by Gwynn during the 1997-98 seasons, this Louisville Slugger B267 model bat shows excellent use and is un-cracked. Several ball marks and stitch impressions are found on the barrel along with black ink transfers. The right barrel shows black scuffs from a batting tee or Gwynn’s cleats and the lower handle has been taped to enhance the grip. The model number “B267” and Gwynn’s initials “TG” are hand written on the knob and top barrel in black marker and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in blue marker. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B01914) for the game use and a COA from PSA/DNA (L74801) for the signature.
