Behind the dynamic duo of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson, the Los Angeles Lakers finished the 1981-82 regular season with a record of 57-25, first in the Pacific Division. Johnson nearly averaged a triple-double (18.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 9.5 assists per game) while Abdul-Jabbar led the team in scoring (23.9 points per game) and blocks (2.7), while pulling down 8.7 boards per contest. The Lakers ran through the playoffs, going 12-2 in the postseason, ending with a defeat of the Philadelphia 76ers to win the NBA title.

Presented here is a Balfour 14K gold 1982 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Los Angeles Lakers NBA championship ring, highlighted by a round diamond set on a larger round purple stone. “NBA WORLD CHAMPIONS” reads around the stone’s setting. One shank displays the NBA league logo, the year 1982, and the word “TEAMWORK”. A purple enamel Lakers team logo adorns the opposite shank with the name “ABDUL-JABBAR” above and “PLAYOFFS 12-2” below.  The inside of this approximate size 11 ½ ring shows the “BALFOUR 14K” mark.  The weight of this ring, which comes directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, is approximately 39.1 grams. A personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem also accompanies this item.
