Offered in this lot is an American League Constitution and Playing Rules book dating to 1907 -- one of the earliest known examples of the AL Rule Book! As the alternative to the rough-and-tumble National League of the early 1900’s, American League founder and president ran the league with a strident set of rules neatly laid out for anyone to read in the Constitution and Playing Rules book. This example is in tremendous condition. Printed on the front in gold is “Constitution and Playing Rules of The American League of Professional Base Ball Clubs”.
