Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his second Topps gum card appearance. Among a total of more than 4,550 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just fifteen examples have achieved a higher, unqualified tier. This extremely satisfying 1953 Topps Mantle sports intense, bold colors that must be seen to be believed. The red caption area at the lower left is particularly strong at the edges, and virtually no evidence of wear can be seen at any of the well-shaped, sharply pointed corners. Bright, uninterrupted gloss and clean rough cuts at the right and left sides add to this card's absolutely uncirculated appearance. The reverse is solidly printed and free of stains. A very pleasing example! Enviable Near Mint to Mint condition.
