Encapsulated and graded 9.8 with “Off-White Pages” by CGC. Marvel's most recognizable mutant hero got his start not in his own comic or in the pages of X-Men, but in this "Incredible Hulk" #181 issue from November 1974. Writer Len Wein was given just a name and instructions to make Wolverine short, angry, and Canadian. Still, he and artist John Romita Sr. took what was intended to be a throwaway character and produced a unique and legendary superhero. The iconic cover was illustrated by Herb Trimpe, who also drew the art that accompanied Len Wein's story.

This presented example of Wolverine's first appearance is in excellent condition and even more desirable as a result. Wolverine, whose ambiguous origin was only slightly revealed in this presented comic, would become the most popular "antihero" prevalent in Marvel Comics during the 1980s. His origin would be expanded upon when he joined the "X-Men" in 1975. According to CGC's census report, only one copy has achieved a higher grade, making this specimen all the more desirable and rarer. The comic featuring one of the most iconic covers in comic book history featuring Marvel's most beloved mutant, in excellent condition.
