The game was released in North America on April 13, 1992, and is the third installment in the “Legend of Zelda” series. Directed by Takashi Tezuka and produced by Shigeru Miyamoto with the music composed by Koji Kondo, “A Link to the Past” features Link on a journey to save Hyrule from Ganon and rescue the descendants of the Seven Sages. The game returned to the top-down perspective featured in the first Zelda game and introduced the concept of parallel worlds and Master Sword to the franchise. The game sold 4.6 million copies and is widely considered one of the greatest and most influential games of all time.
