Offered is an exciting pair of 1985 Topps "Traded" prototype sets, which were recently discovered by our consignor. These captivating paper-thin, blue-backed cards were likely produced to test material characteristics in preparation for the company’s Traded release in 1985. They were never intended to be released to the hobby in this form, which makes them extremely rare... quite possibly the only known examples! In total, 17 cards have been assessed "Authentic" by PSA and labeled as "Prototype." Includes: 1985 Topps "Traded" Prototype (130) - Near set 130 of 132 cards. Missing #'s 4 and 131 for completion. In total, 14 cards have been graded by PSA: Includes: Graded PSA Authentic: 14 cards w/#'s 2, 17, 20, 22, 24, 43, 49 Henderson, 64, 77 Lynn, 78, 115, 116, 126 and 129; 1985 Topps "Traded" Prototype (87) - Partial set 87 of 132 cards. Three cards have been graded by PSA. Includes: Graded PSA Authentic: 3 cards w/#'s 49 Henderson, 77 and 115. Overall, the cards are pack-fresh and in NM to MINT condition (some slightly lesser mainly due to centering). Two 1984 Topps "Traded" boxes also accompany the lot, which once held these cards. Total: 219 items.
