Joseph Pulitzer is primarily associated today with The Pulitzer Prize which was established in 1917 by money he bequeathed to Columbia University. However, in his career Pulitzer was a newspaper publisher and introduced the technique of 'new journalism' and was the primary competitor to William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal. This check made out to himself is signed on both the front and back of the check. The check has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA with a grade of Near Mint 7.
