Winter Auction 2016 Closing January 30th
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 1/31/2016
Only two other '76 Nets player's rings have ever reached the auction blockāone of which, belonging to none other than Dr. J, famously sold in 2011 for almost $200,000. The fresh-to-the-hobby offering presented here comes from point guard Ted "Hound Dog" McClain, who had won an ABA championship with the Kentucky Colonels the previous year (see adjacent auction lot), and who joined Erving and company midway through the 1975-76 season. Over 30 games, McClain averaged 11 points, 4 assists and 2 steals per game en route to the league title. His Josten 10K-gold, size 11 ring features real diamonds and reads "24 / McClain / G." EX/MT condition. Comes with Letter of authenticity from Ted McClain
