"Silent George" led the NL in runs scored five times - a record equaled by Rogers Hornsby and Stan Musial but never broken. As the Giants leadoff man during the late teens and early twenties, Burns appeared in three World Series and led the NL in steals twice. Burns' Hillerich & Bradsby B78 model bat shows outstanding use with a crack on the barrel. Many ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen along with cleat marks. The barrel has been sanded and planed for factory side writing which reads: "Geo. Burns 4-24-18" in grease pencil. The knob end has been stamped with the vault mark "B78". A great example of a pre-war side written bat. Letter of Authenticity (1B11004) from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a perfect GU 10.
