Given his massive success and reputation as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history, in the 1960s Ted Williams reached an extensive deal with Sears and Roebuck, lending his name and talent toward marketing, developing, and endorsing a line of in-house sports equipment In the early 1960s, Sears and Roebuck replaced the J.C. Higgins brand of sporting goods with the Ted Williams brand and the Williams brand was used through the 1960s and into the early 1970s. This three-speed Free Spirit bicycle possessing “Ted Williams Quality” was personally owned by Williams himself. The bike does show some wear and rusting due to age. Wonderful opportunity to own a personal item of the Splendid Splinter that was marketed under his own brand. Due to the size and weight of this item additional shipping charges may apply.
