While Bruce Sutter wore #42 for most of his career, he had to find a different number during his first few seasons with the Braves, as 42 was already spoken for by new teammate Rick Mahler. This 1985 game used Atlanta Braves road jersey is solid blue, with Atlanta scripted in blue letters trimmed with white across the chest above #40, also blue with white trim. The #40 is also found on the back in matching style, below a nameplate reading “Sutter” in dark blue letters. A small box-shaped tag reading “85” is stitched on the front left tail, and the collar and sleeve are both rimmed with dark blue and white trim. Inside the collar is a Wilson manufacturer’s tag denoting size 44. Jersey shows moderate wear, and comes with an LOA from noted game use expert Dave Miedema.
