Donald Dawson had a long and prolific career as a Washington DC attorney but is best remembered as the Presidential aide to Harry S. Truman during his critical 1948 election campaign. Dawson acted as a political advance man and was able to gauge the climate prior to each stop in order to provide valuable advice to Truman. Dawson's actions redefined how modern day political campaigns are run. Presented in this lot is an 1949 Inaugural Ticket, "Honored Guest" Badge to 1964 Democratic National Convention and a 'Independence' Luggage Tag bearing Dawson's name.
