Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio commanded respect not just from their fans, but also from their baseball peers. These two 7½ X 9½ presentation pieces (11X14 framed) collect quotes from opponents of these 2 baseball giants, heaping praise and admiration on each. The Ted Williams piece features a small photo of Williams in the upper right corner next to “Ted Williams ‘The Splendid Splinter’”. Beneath this are observations about Ted from Paul Richards, Allie Reynolds, Whitey Ford and Jim Lemon. The DiMaggio piece is designed identically, with a small drawing of Joe D next to “Joe DiMaggio ‘The Yankee Clipper’”. Quotations on this piece include Joe Cronin, Frank Crosetti, Pee Wee Reese and Bucky Harris. Both Williams and DiMaggio have added their distinctive signatures to his respective panel. Each signature has been authenticated by JSA, with a certification sticker affixed to both pieces.
