The winningest pitcher in baseball history is brought to life in this original, 20" x 16" oil-on-linen production by acclaimed sports artist Graig Kreindler. He has been featured in several large publications including The New York Times (Click Here for link to article), Fox News (Click here for link to video) and The Wall Street Journal (Click here for link to article). Among the numerous awards conferred upon Kreindler for his work are the Norman Rockwell Museum Award and the Society of Illustrators’ Illustration Academy Award. In this sublime 2013 painting – titled "A Solid Homecoming" – Hall of Famer Cy Young is portrayed shortly after reporting to the Cleveland Naps in 1909. Young had just recently returned to his Ohio roots, and he toured with the Naps near the conclusion of his long and distinguished, 22-year career. Kreindler's outstanding representational style, characterized by meticulous attention to detail in Young's countenance and uniform, shows the pitching legend in a relaxed, in-stadium pose, and the observer can't help but be drawn to the work's colorful and photorealistic quality.
