This lot features four (4) New York Yankee related items. The first is a program from 1953 that remains unscored. The second program is scored from a game between the Yankees and the Washington Nationals. According to the scoring, the Yankees defeated the Nationals 12-2 and the game included home runs by Mickey Mantle, Bill Skowron and Elston Howard. The third item is a program from Roger Maris’ funeral services held at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York on December 23, 1985. Within the program is the order of the mass which includes the Prayer of the Faithful led by Phil Rizzuto and Words of Tribute from Howard Cosell. The last item is a First Day Issue postcard commemorating the 50th anniversary of the first All-Star game in 1933. The postcard is signed by Lefty Gomez who etched his place in history as the winning pitcher of that first All-Star game.
