This 2008 New York Giants road jersey was game worn by 2X Super Bowl Champion quarterback Eli Manning on October 13, 2008 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH. Remarkably, the Giants opened the 2008 NFL season with victories in 11 of their first 12 games. This game vs. the Browns accounted for that only blemish through the first three-quarters of the season. In the game, a 35-14 shellacking by Cleveland, Manning completed 18 of 28 passes for just 196 yards, a touchdown and 3 interceptions. A somewhat forgettable day in an otherwise remarkable regular season, during which the Giants went 12-4 before being unceremoniously dumped in the NFC Divisional round of the playoffs by the Philadelphia Eagles. The jersey, manufactured by Reebok, has a small patch on the inside of the back collar reading “08-50. The NFL Equipment crest is centered just below the neckline above the letters “ny.” An NFL Captain Patch adorns the right breast, a white letter “C” on red background, rimmed in silver, with 2 gold stars and 2 white stars. This represents Manning’s 2nd year as team captain. The jersey is white mesh, with Eli’s #10 in solid red adorning the front, back and both shoulders. Below the number on each sleeve is the Reebok symbol above 3 red stripes. A “MANNING” nameplate is stitched on the back in red on white. The Reebok manufacturer’s tag is found on the front left tail, with tags attached reading “2” L.B.” and “50”. Jersey shows heavy game use, with significant dirt and grass stains on the sides and back of the jersey, and has been photo matched to a Getty images photo which is included with the jersey. Also included is a MeiGrayGroup Certificate of Registration and MGG hologram 148991.
