2014 will always be remembered for Madison Bumgarner’s spectacular postseason run in which he set all-time records with 52.2 innings pitched and a 1.03 postseason ERA. His 0.43 ERA in 21 innings in the 2014 World Series was also the lowest for pitchers with a minimum of at least 15 innings pitched in a single series Sandy Koufax 0.38 over 24 innings in the 1965 Series. Bumgarner’s miniscule 0.25 career-Series ERA spanning 36 innings over three World Series (2010, 2012 and 2014) is the lowest of any pitcher with a minimum of 25 Series innings pitched. His stellar performance against the Kansas City Royals in 2014 made him the only pitcher to record two wins, a shutout and a save in a single World Series.
These lace up style New Balance cleats were worn by Bumgarner during the 2014 season. Dirt remnants from game used can be seen on the bottom of the cleats as well as on the left, front toe. Both cleats have been signed and inscribed by Bumgarner “GU ’14.”
