Positioned behind home plate, surveying the entire field, helping direct other players’ positioning, calling signals and catching the pitches from his battery mate, it is hard to over-estimate the value of an MLB catcher. And, of all the catcher’s that have graced the baseball diamond, this panoramic image pays tribute to some of the best that ever played.
Carlton Fisk, Yogi Berra, Johnny Bench and Gary Carter are all wonderfully depicted in this photo of baseball’s most prolific backstops. The panoramic includes both portrait images of each player as well as action shots from their careers. This captivating piece has also been signed by all four players and includes inscriptions by each player of the year they were elected into Baseball’s Hall of Fame.
