As the 2nd pick overall by the Chicago Cubs in the 2013 MLB Amateur Draft, the clamor for Kris Bryant in the Windy City had grown deafening by the start of the 2015 season. Management answered the call quickly, and Bryant made his highly anticipated Major League debut on April 17, 2015 at Wrigley Field. Bryant went 0-4 with 3 strikeouts that day, an inauspicious start to be sure, but he would go 9-18 with 6 RBI over the next 5 games, finding his swing and beginning his march toward the eventual 2015 Rookie of the Year Award. With an outstanding young roster the Cubs look to be a perennial playoff contender, and Bryant will be the centerpiece for years to come. This is the game-used Lineup Card from Bryant’s debut game, used by the visiting San Diego Padres to track lineup changes during the game. The lineup card reads ”San Diego Padres at Chicago Cubs, Wrigley Field * Chicago, IL * April 17, 2015”, and lists the umpiring crew, starting lineups, available position players and available pitchers for both teams. The bottom of the card is signed by Padres manager Bud Black, as is customary at the Major League level. More importantly, Bryant himself has signed under the Padres Available Position Players section of the card in black marker, and included the inscription “MLB Debut 4-17-15”. The lineup card comes with MLB Authentication Hologram #HZ744282.
