By the time the Bryce Harper made his major League debut on April 27, 2012, he was the most anticipated rookie in recent memory. Harper didn't disappoint, eventually winning the NL's Rookie of the Year Award. This navy blue home jersey was worn by Harper less than three weeks after being called up to the Nationals. Worn by the rookie sensation during the May 16, 2012 game against the Pirates, Harper played both center and right field during the game. At the plate he went 1 for 3 with two strike outs and a walk while scoring 2 runs in the Nats 7-4 in over Pittsburgh. Harper's one hit was a triple to deep right field off Erik Bedard in the first. He then scored the first run of the game on Zimmerman's ground out. The Nats jersey is a special patriotic design with the Washington "W" rendered in navy with white stars to echo the American Flag. The jersey has red and white piping down the front and around the sleeve ends. Harper's number "34" is on the right chest in red and white tackle twill. Majestic "size 48" Cool Base label is in the lower left front tail and a navy strip tag in the collar has "34 48 '12 511" in white stitching. The left sleeve features the Washington Nationals logo patch. The back of the jersey has "HARPER" and his number "34" in white and red tackle twill. The rookie slugger has signed the "4" in black marker adding his number "34" and Luke 1:37". The jersey shows light game use with a few stray threads on the tackle twill stitching and no tears or holes. A nice seldom-seen jersey style from the first month of Harper's career. COA (FJ754165) from MLB and JSA (X77151).
