This is an Official Fricke National League baseball team-signed by one of the most important teams in MLB history, the 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers. It was the ’47 Dodgers who opened the season with Jackie Robinson at first base, the first black player to take the field for an MLB team. Robinson would go on to win the Rookie of the Year, and the Dodgers would win the NL Pennant, only to lose to the Yankees in the World Series. This baseball features 24 signatures from that pennant winning squad, including Hall of Famers Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese and Duke Snider, as well as teammates Carl Furillo, Hugh Casey, Pete Reiser, Dixie Walker and Hal Gregg, coach Jake Pitler, and interim manager Burt Shooten, along with many others. All signatures show quite well in blue ink, and the ball comes with an LOA from JSA.
