In the inaugural AFL season, the Oilers won the inaugural AFL Championship Game 24-16 over the Chargers. No player's ring has ever surfaced at auction, making this coach's example one of the most significant '60 Oilers ring offerings to date. It was bestowed upon former All-Pro Browns receiver Mac Speedie, who averaged 800 receiving yards per season, four times led the league in catches, and captured a handful of league championships. In Houston, Speedie became an end coach under head coach Lou Rymkus. Some believe Speedie deserves Hall of Fame consideration. His Josten 10K-gold, size 8 ring rates EX/MT and comes with a 1988 signed LOA reading, "I am the daughter of former professional football player, Mac Speedie. My father played with the Cleveland Browns from 1946 through 1952. After his playing days he was a coach with the Houston Oilers. One of the items I have kept from my father's career was his Houston Oilers Championship ring awarded to him in 1960...We have kept this ring in the family since that time." A Jostens presentation pouch also accompanies.
