Offered is a great collectible from recently elected Hall of Famer Mike Piazza. This full Rawlings catcher’s set features a royal blue face mask, blue chest protector with red outlines and two blue shin guards with red outlines. Each item shows excellent game use and Piazza signed his name in silver marker on the chest protector and inscribed “N.L. R.O.Y. 93”, “31” and “1996 A.S. G. MVP”.
This lot comes with a letter of authentication from the Los Angeles Lakers signed by Philip Coca, the personal assistant to the late former owner Jerry Buss. The letter states the gear, which was used during Piazza's time with the Los Angeles Dodgers, was obtained by the Lakers from Piazza's agent, Dan Lozano.
