The only thing that kept Mike Trout from winning the AL MVP Award was Miguel Cabrera's Triple Crown season. So the Angels sensation "settled" for just being the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year. No rookie since Mickey Mantle came into the league with more expectations - and lived up to them - than Trout. Using this bat the kid hit .326 and led the league in runs and stolen bases. The Old Hickory J143M model bat is un-cracked and displays outstanding use. The barrel is covered with many ball marks with stitch impressions as well as blue ink transfers and white leather ball scuffs. There is the impression from a weighted batting donut and cleat impressions visible. The lower handle has been wrapped with adhesive tape to enhance the grip and a heavy coat of Mota Stick has been applied in the same area. The bat's length "33.5" is stamped into the barrel band along with the work order "1203120-MT2" which is March 2012, work order 120, Trout's initials and the 2nd bat in that order. The greatest rookie to come along in a generation has signed the bat's barrel in silver ink adding "2012 G/U AL ROY". Letter of Authenticity (1B06978) from PSA/DNA who have graded this Rookie of the Year stick a perfect GU 10 and (1391) from Anderson Authentics, Trout’s official memorabilia agent.
