This bat dates from the early part of George Brett's Hall of Fame career. During the seasons he was swinging this bat, Brett was just beginning to rack up the 3,154 career hits that would make him the greatest hitting third baseman of all time. The Hillerich & Bradsby T85 model bat shows moderate use and is un-cracked. A few ball marks with stitch impressions are visible along with cleat imprints and blue at rack paint streaks. Although Brett has gone down in baseball history for his heavy use of pine tar, this bat dates from the 1970's when the slugger was much more liberal in his application of the sticky stuff. Brett's number "5" is hand written on the knob in black marker and he has signed the barrel in black marker. Letter of Authenticity (1B11135) from PSA/DNAgrwding the bat an 8.
