Puerto Rican catcher Raul Casanova logged parts of 9 seasons in the majors from 1996 to 2008, and he spent 2005 suiting up for the world champion White Sox and their AAA affiliate Charlotte Knights. The Ozzie Guillen-led Pale Hose lost just one game in the postseason that year as they dismantled the Red Sox in the ALDS (3-0), Angels in the ALCS (4-1) and Astros in the World Series (4-0). Perhaps the most memorable Fall Classic moments were Scott Podsednik's walk-off HR to end Game 3 and the record-breaking 14-inning, 6-hour duration of Game 4! Manufactured by Jostens, Casanova's 14K-gold, size 11-1/2 ring rates NM and features a diamond-encrusted "SOX" logo atop a black stone encircled by two tiers of 217.5 points' worth of 58 total diamonds. The accompanying presentation box (6" x 5" x 4", NM) displays a recessed "Sox" logo and raised championship-trophy design, along with the "Raul Casanova" plaque. Casanova's 2010 handwritten LOA reads, "This is my 2005 World Champion Chicago White Sox Series Ring in its original box. I was the catcher on the team, the first White Sox team to win the World Series since 1917. It is 100% real and authentic and is the only one there is in existence." A 2011 purchase LOA is also included.
