The fateful motorcade that wound through Dealey Plaza the afternoon of November 22, 1963 was carrying President Kennedy to the Dallas Business and Trade Mart where he was to give a speech. Afterwards the President and his entourage were to travel on to Austin where that evening Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon Johnson were to be guests of honor at the Texas Welcome Dinner given by the State Democratic Executive Committee. Of course tragic events that day necessitated the cancellation of the event. This display features ticket number D 9146 that would have admitted the bearer to the President's Welcome Dinner. The 2 1/4" x 4" ticket is printed on gold stock and is paired with a color photograph of the Kennedy's and Connally's in their limousine moments before the assassination. Professionally matted and framed to 20 1/2" x 21".
