On Thanksgiving Day 2001, Mike Anderson and the Denver Broncos held off a furious 4th Quarter comeback to edge the Dallas Cowboys in a 26-24 thriller. Anderson carried the ball 33 times for 118 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown plunge in the 2nd quarter, in leading Denver to the victory. After the game, the CBS Network awarded Anderson this All-Iron Award as Player of the Game. The award consists of a pewter 5 ½” pewter iron mounted atop a 6½X6½X5 inch wooden base. The front of the award contains a gold plaque engraved with the words “ALL IRON AWARD THANKSGIVING DAY NOVEMBER 22, 2001”. The underside of the base, which is covered in purple felt, Anderson has signed “Mike Anderson 11-22-01 Iron-Man Award” in black marker. This award is accompanied by a player LOA containing a facsimile signature by Anderson.
