Ah, the Band of Bearded Brothers. From "The Siesta" (Napoli) to "The Ironsides" (Gomes) to "The Saltine" (Saltalamacchia) to "The Tease" (Ortiz) and beyond, those hirsute heroes of the 2013 Red Sox captured our nationwide attention as much for their flair and solidarity as for their Cinderella story of being just the second team in MLB history to go from cellar dwellers in their division to World Series champions the very next year. And thus the Fenway Faithful enjoyed their 3rd championship in 9 years. Take that, Curse of the Bambino.

Back in August, we had the pleasure of bringing the first 2013 Red Sox ring to auction—a minor-league coaching example. Now it's our honor to unveil another, this time that of Dominican Summer League (DSL) hitting coach Wilton Veras, who himself had briefly played for the major-league Red Sox in 1999 and 2000. The Jostens ring exhibits radiant NM condition and measures, appropriately enough, size 13. It is accompanied by a Jostens Certificate of Appraisal estimating the insurance replacement value of raw materials alone at $15,570, with the following description: "The entire ring features 126 round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2 carats in total. All diamonds are SI GH color and weigh approximately 2 carats. The genuine custom-cut rubies weigh approximately 2.50 carats. The ring weighs 45 grams in Silver Elite." Also included is the elegant wooden presentation box (8" x 4-3/4" x 2-1/2", EX/MT) with a frosted plexiglas window reading, "BOSTON RED SOX WORLD CHAMPIONS 2013 / WILTON A. VERAS."
