Befitting his status among “Yankees Legends” Derek Jeter bowed out in memorably dramatic fashion, rapping a walk-off game winning single to defeat the Baltimore Orioles in the bottom of the ninth inning of his final game at Yankee Stadium on September 25, 2014. Three days later, rival Red Sox fans rose in unison to give Jeter a standing ovation as he stepped to the plate at Fenway Park for the first at bat of his final major league game. Jeter’s farewell tour provided plenty of similar Hallmark® moments along the way. This set of MLB Authenticated pinstriped Yankees home jersey (HZ114817) and pants (HZ114818) is dated June 1, 2014 and was worn by Jeter during the last game of the Yankees three-game series vs. the Minnesota Twins at Yankee Stadium when Jeter recorded his 3,367th career hit and 1,272nd RBI. Size-48 MLB Authentic Collection/Rawlings button-down pinstriped jersey contains the Yankees iconic interlocking NY logo in navy tackle twill on the left breast with Jeter’s soon to be retired number “2” in the same navy tackle twill underneath a navy, white and gray MLB logo on the back collar. MLB Authentic/Majestic manufacturer’s label is sewn onto the left front tail with “2014” size “48” flag tags and MLB Authenticated (HZ 114817) and Steiner Sports holograms. Jersey shows excellent game use with grass stains running down the button lines where Jeter may have dove for a ball in the outfield. Matching uniform pants have “35-40 36 OB ‘14” printed on MLB Authentic/Majestic manufacturer’s label on the interior waist band with MLB Authenticated (HZ 114818) and Steiner Sports holograms, with grass stains on the front consistent with those on the jersey. This complete jersey and pants set were also worn in the previous two Yankees games on May 30th and May 31st where he collected three more hits (career hit numbers 3,334, 3,365 and 3,366) as well as career double #530. Historic physical memento of Jeter’s final season comes with pair of Steiner Sports LOAs and five 8” x 10” uniform match color photos and CD ROM disc.
