If the Packers were the team of the 1960s, and the Steelers were the team of the 1970s, then the 49ers were without a doubt the team of the 1980s. And the Montana-and-Rice-led squad could hardly have put a finer point on their dominance than with the capstone 55-10 rout of the Broncos.
Fittingly, this Jostens 10K-gold, size 11-1/2 ring was designed to emphasize the 4th championship of the decade, with its crowning 232 points of diamonds as well as its Golden Gate Bridge/4 Lombardi Trophies shank motif. EX/MT condition except that the "XXIV" on one side is missing half of its red-enamel filling. Running back Keith Henderson, a former star at the University of Georgia, was a rookie with the Niners who (along with more than a dozen other NFL players) missed the first few games of the season due to a drug suspension. An accompanying 1995 purchase LOA reads, "It is our understanding that this ring was given to KEITH HENDERSON who was a second string Running Back behind Tom Rathman on their 1989 Championship team and played in the Super Bowl Game." Also included is a classic Jostens wooden presentation box (6-1/2" x 3-1/2" x 2-1/2") featuring a metal SF logo on top, then "SUPER BOWL XXIV" on the lid underside, and finally an interior plaque reading, "SAN FRANCISCO FORTY NINERS SUPER BOWL XXIV CHAMPIONS / KEITH HENDERSON."
