Former New York Mets pitcher Roger McDowell was key member of the bullpen that helped the Mets win their second World Series title in franchise history in 1986. McDowell had a 14-9 record with a 3.02 ERA in 128 innings pitched.
This size 42 pullover New York Mets jersey was worn by McDowell during that historic championship season in New York. Manufactured by W. A. Goodman & Sons, this jersey features “Mets” across the chest in blue and orange tackle twill with his number “42” sewn on below. The sleeves have a ribbed orange/blue/orange stripes that run vertical and the same striping pattern that runs down each side. “McDOWELL” is sewn on in blue and orange tackle twill on a matching gray name plate with his number “42” sewn on below in the same color pattern. The left sleeve has a commemorative “25th ANNIVERSARY 1962-1986” patch. This jersey shows nice game use and McDowell signed his name on the front next to his number in blue marker and inscribed “1986 “GAME USED””. The “W.A. Goodman & Sons” size 42 tag is sewn on the base of the front left tail. This jersey comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA07030).
