No man in the history of the Chicago Cubs played the game with more enthusiasm than Ernie Banks. Nicknamed “Mr. Cub” by the Wrigley Field faithful, Banks was one of the most feared hitters of the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. He was the first player in the history of the National League to win back-to-back MVP Awards and his number 14 was the first number permanently retired by his beloved Chicago Cubs.

An All-Star 14 times over and twice the NL’s home run leader, this Louisville Slugger is the visual embodiment of Ernie Banks’ boundless talent and endless enthusiasm for the game he loved. The Hillerich & Bradsby M159 model bat shows outstanding use by the two-time MVP. The handle has a repaired crack and there are two chips in the bat’s knob. Several spike indentations can be seen on the barrel. The stamping is dark and clear and the wood has taken on a warm brown tone with age. A beautiful game used Louisville Slugger from the prime years of the most popular player to ever put on a Cubs jersey. This game used bat comes with a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA (1B10349).
