Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his debut-year gum card appearance. A scarcer "Middle Series" entry. Among more than 2,600 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just thirty-seven examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. One of the game's most gracious individuals, and arguably the best-fielding third baseman who ever patrolled the position, lifelong Oriole Brooks Robinson is among the most popular card subjects of all time.
The defensive star presents an obstruction in one sense, however, in that his rookie card is maddeningly difficult to find in top condition. The offered collectible faces and conquers the normal order of things, by virtue of superior attributes in every category. Its corners are sharp, its eye appeal is beyond challenge. The photo's registration is superb, which is an incredible statement to make about any card from this typically "fuzzy" series, and about Robinson's '57 depiction, in particular.
