Graded NM 7 by PSA. This entry hails from the 1952 Topps issue's much scarcer "High Number" series. Among more than 650 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, sixty-one examples have been placed at a higher, unqualified tier. This piece was released less than a year after its subject's "Shot Heard 'Round the World." Thomson's fabled homer took the 1951 NL Pennant for the Giants, and earned a place in baseball immortality for its author. The offered example of Thomson's 1952 card delivers a nicely resolved portrait with pleasing background color. A very desirable card, presented in an extremely bright and appealing state of preservation. Near Mint condition.
