Presented here is an official baseball that was used in Game 3 of the 1925 World Series between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Washington Senators in a rematch of the 1924 World Series won by Washington. Game 3 was played at Griffith Stadium in Washington, where the Senators won 4-3 to take a 2-1 series lead. After the Senators took a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, the Pirates became the first team to overcome such a deficit and knocked off Washington in seven games to win the title.

     This baseball shows outstanding use. The manufacturer, president stamp and other markings are unreadable, but according to experts Mears, the weight, circumference, stitch color and count are consistent with both the American and National League baseballs of that era. Notated on this baseball in black ink is “October 10, 1925”, which was the date of Game 3 of the World Series. This historic baseball comes with a full LOA from Mears, who have graded this ball as “Authentic”.
