The very first Major League All-Star game was played on July 6, 1933 at Comiskey Park in Chicago. This first edition of the Midsummer Classic showcased some of the greatest players of all-time and saw the American League defeat the National League 4-2. Offered here is the first American League All-Star team 12 x 20 inch photograph that has pictured Eddie Collins, Tony Lazzeri, Al Crowder, Jimmy Foxx, Earl Averill, Ed Rommel, Ben Chapman, Rick Ferrell, Sam West, Charlie Gehringer, Clyde McBride, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Orv Hildebrandt, Manager Connie Mack, Joe Cronin, Lefty Grove, Bill Dickey, Al Simmons, Lefty Gomez, Wes Ferrell, and Jimmy Dykes. Some of the greats have signed this photograph and the signatures include Hall of Famers Joe Cronin, Earl Averill, Bill Dickey, Rick Ferrell, Charlie Gehringer, and Lefty Gomez. Also signed are the autographs of Ben Chapman and Sam West. All of the signatures are in blue marker and Cronin inscribed “To Barry Halper The No. 1 Rooter for the Yankees! And No. 1 Collector – Best Wishes 7/6/83”. This photograph has been matted and framed to a dimension of 21 x 28 inches. Please note that the photograph is off-center with the matting.
