Former reliever Turk Wendell spent four-plus seasons with the New York Mets, where he enjoyed a successful run before being traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2001. His ERA during his tenure with the Mets was 3.34, his lowest with any team, as he was a key contributor to the Mets’ playoff run in 1999.

This size 46 New York Mets button-down road gray jersey manufactured by AIS was worn by Wendell during the 1999 season. This jersey has “NEW YORK” sewn on across the chest in blue, orange and black tackle twill, with Wendell’s number “99” sewn on the center left front chest in the same color pattern. Blue piping runs along the collar and down both sided of the buttons and blue piping is wrapped around each sleeve one inch from the ends. On the back of the jersey appears “WENDELL” and his “99” all sewn on in blue, orange and black tackle twill. The left sleeve has the Mets cityscape logo patch sewn on and the AIS size 46 tag and (’99) flag are sewn on the inside back center tail. This jersey shows light to moderate use and has been signed by Wendell on the front of the jersey in black marker below the “NEW” and inscribed “#99 .gm.used”. This jersey comes with a COA from PSA/DNA (AB98583) for his signature and a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
