Former shortstop Nomar Garciaparra exploded onto the Major League scene, winning the 1997 American League Rookie of the Year and led the Red Sox to back-to-back playoff appearances in 1998 and 1999. In July of 2004, Garciaparra was traded by the Red Sox to the Chicago Cubs.
Garciaparra wore this Majestic size 44 navy blue button-down Chicago Cubs batting practice jersey during the 2005 season. Garciaparra’s number “5” is sewn on in back in red on white tackle twill. Garciaparra originally had number 8 when he was traded to the Cubs and switched to his preferred number “5” for the start of the 2005 season. The “Cubs” logo is sewn on the upper left chest and the “National League” patch is sewn on the right sleeve. This jersey comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the Chicago Cubs signed by Tom Hellmann, Home Clubhouse Manager.
