Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo participated in the 2015 Home Run Derby on July 13, 2015 as part of the All-Star festivities at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati. As part of the new format, players were paired off in brackets and given a time limit per round. Rizzo was matched up against Toronto Blue Jays slugger Josh Donaldson. Donaldson defeated Rizzo 9-8 and this Official Major League Robert D. Manfred baseball was one of the baseballs that did not leave the park during the quarterfinal round. Rizzo hit this “Gillette HOME RUN DERBY” stamped ball for an out during that round as this ball shows evidence of moderate use. Rizzo signed his name in blue ink on the panel with the “HOME RUN DERBY” logo. This baseball comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 017566) and a hologram from Fanatics (0591693) for his signature.
