Through the first nine years of his fourteen-year MLB career, Bret Boone was named to just one All-Star Game, representing the Cincinnati Reds in 1998. Then, in a late-career outburst, Boone found a power surge that would aid in getting him chosen to the midsummer classic twice in three years as a member of the Seattle Mariners. This lot consists of the two caps Boone wore during those two All-Star Game appearances in 2001 and 2003. The 2001 cap, a New Era size 7 cap with a navy blue crown and aqua brim, has Boone’s number ”29” handwritten above Boone’s signature on the underside of the brim, all in black marker. The 2003 cap, a New Era size 6 7/8 solid navy blue hat has “Boone” handwritten above Boone’s signature, also on the underside of the brim, also in black marker. Each cap features that year’s All-Star Game logo patch on the left side of the crown. Both caps are accompanied by individual LOA’s signed by Bret Boone, authenticating game use and autograph.
