Graded 30 GD 2 by SGC. Hall of Famer. A period of relative calm followed the great cascade of tobacco insert cards of the late 1880s. In 1895, the singular exception was the appearance of a 48-card baseball issue sponsored by Mayo's Cut Plug. Of the several distinguished luminaries featured was John Ward whose card from that production headlines this listing. Actually, there were two varieties of Ward in Mayo—this one, that captions his later-career position, "2nd Base" and another that announced "Retired." Good condition
