On a Rawlings Official MLB baseball is the signature of U.S. navigator Theodore “Dutch” Van Kirk. The inscription reads “30,600 feet over Hiroshima this bombing ended WWII and stopped the killing.” On another unused Rawlings ball, the inscription “Morris Jeppson Weapon Test Officer Enola Gay Mission 6 Aug, 1945 HIROSHIMA JAPAN” is made in blue ink in the “sweet spot” by officer Morris Jeppson himself.
