Longtime TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager is best known for his wearing of brightly colored suits throughout his brilliant 40+ year broadcast career of covering the NBA and various other sports. Many NBA coaches, including San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich have bristled at being interviewed during a heated contested, with Popovich going out of his way on many occasions to give one or two-word answers. Like a true professional, Sager with his calm demeanor and poignant questions, continues to get the most information possible out of less than cooperative coaches.

Sager’s biggest battle however, is his continuous fight against acute myeloid leukemia. After receiving a successful bone marrow transplant, from his son Craig Jr., the leukemia unfortunately returned as announced by Sager in March 2016. Despite the prognosis, Sager vows to fight on. Deservingly, Sager was awarded the “Jimmy V Perseverance Award” at the 2016 ESPY Awards in July 2016.

Goldin Auctions is proud to present this Italo Ferretti silk tie that has been signed by Sager himself, along with the members of the TNT NBA broadcast team. The tie comes directly from A. Taghi, Inc of Houston, Texas, the company that provides Sager with his trademark colorful suits. Fittingly, this tie has a purple striped pattern, the Northwestern University colors, of which Sager is an alumnus. The tie has been signed in black marker by Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, who inscribed “34” and “#SAGERSTRONG”, , Ernie Johnson Jr, who inscribed “TNT” and “PH. 2:3-5”, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, Marv Albert, Kenny Smith and Craig Sager himself, who inscribed “Sager Strong”. This multi-signed and inscribed tie comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AB07136) and a full LOA from James Spence Authentication (Y71645). The proceeds from the sale of this special tie will be donated to the Sager Strong Foundation.
