Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice holds many of the all-time receiving marks in the NFL, including receptions (1,549), touchdown receptions (197), and receiving yards (22,895). Rice was also a key player in four Super Bowl victories during his storied career. Jerry Rice game used jersey are highly sought after and this home red San Francisco 49ers jersey from the 1996 NFC Divisional Playoff game makes this jersey even more desirable.
Rice wore this size 48 Wilson red mesh home jersey on January 6, 1996 at 3Com Park in San Francisco during the NFC Divisional Playoff game where the Green Bay Packers defeated the 49ers 27-17. Rice finished the day with 11 receptions for 117 yards, including a 32-yard catch in the second quarter. This on top of the 1995 regular season where he led the NFL with 1,848 receiving yards – his third straight season in leading the league.
This red jersey features Rice’s number “80” sewn on front, back and sleeves in white tackle twill. The Wilson logo patch is sewn on both sleeves by his number and three white stripes are screen printed on each sleeve capped off by a ribbed end. “RICE” is sewn on in white on matching red mesh nameplate above the back number. The Wilson tag is sewn on bottom front left tail with white “95” patch and size (48) flap on each side. The jersey shows solid game use with a discernible scuff mark on the upper left “8” of the back “80”. This jersey comes with a full LOA from the San Francisco 49ers authenticating this jersey to the specific January 6, 1996 playoff game and a full LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey a perfect “A10”.
