This off-white 1 ¼ x 3 ¼ inch stub was used for the May 21, 1938 game at Comiskey Park which saw the New York Yankees defeat the Chicago White Sox 1-0 and signed by Hall of Famer and the “Iron Horse” Lou Gehrig. Gehrig went 1-2 with two walks and signed his name in pencil across the center of the front of the ticket. The signature is light, but still readable. The ticket itself is from “American League Baseball Club of Chicago 35th St. and Shields Ave.” with “Box 62, Tier 1, Seat 7”, “Lower Deck Box” and a $1.65 face value. This was Gehrig’s last full season in the Major League before he retired in May of 1939 as he led the Yankees to an American League best 99-53 record and his last World Series title. This signed ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (83026081).
