Famed crime boss of the 1930s and 1940s, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel , signed this Nevada Project Corporation Stock Certificate in his legal name (Benjamin Siegel) in black pen above the “President” line on the bottom right of the document. The date printed on the document is July 26, 1946. The certificate was issued to Louis I. Pokrass, Vice President of the Nevada Project Corporation and one of the four Directors of the Flamingo Hotel for 75 shares. Siegel formed the Nevada Project Corporation to muscle out his partnership with Billy Wilkerson after the original opening of the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, which opened on December 26, 1946, was a flop.

This 8 ½ x 10 ¾ inch document was signed on April 18th, 1947, just two months before Siegel was killed in his Beverly Hills home on June 20, 1947. The document is in good condition with five vertical creases, including one down the middle and several pin holes. There are some slight tears on the edges by the creases as well. The shares at the time were valued at $250 each. The name of Louis I. Pokrass is handwritten in green marker with the “Seven-five” also handwritten, indicating the number of shares. This document comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (AA06145).
